Doug and I went in to my doctors appointment this morning in hopes of finding out what the sex of our baby would be. The ultrasound was first. The nurse took a few different measurements and after a few minutes we asked if she could see anything relating to the sex of the baby. She casually said "Nope, the feet are blocking my view of that area so it doesnt look like we will be able to tell." Ugh! Dont get me wrong, I mean we were thrilled to hear that the baby was healthy and normal and had a normal heart beat, etc, etc. But we REALLY wanted to know if we were going to have a son or a daughter. After a whole bunch more measurements, the nurse asked "So what were you thinking it was going to be?" Doug and I (and everyone else, it seems) thought it would be a girl, so we answered accordingly. We were very pleased with her reply, which was, "well, you're right! The baby moved her feet and there it is." We are so excited! Doug is going to be very outnumbered now as both Sophie (dog) and Meiko (cat) are females as well. But at least he gets to remain my only boy for a while longer. :) Monday, February 23, 2009

Here are a few more pics (that I stole from Maria's blog) of Christmas in Boise

Adoring baby Jesus. I love when we act out the nativity. It is so sweet.

Doug and I were able to go home (to Boise) for Christmas for a few days. We had a blast spending time with family that we hadn't seen in a while. ... More pictures to come...

Suns Vs Jazz

Doug got sweet Suns tickets free from his boss last week. We got to sit in posh leather seats in what's called The Lexus Club. With Doug being from Utah, we had to be pretty secretive in our cheering for the Jazz. It was neck and neck the whole game but in the end, the Suns won.Saturday, November 29, 2008
ZOO LIGHTS!
Friday night Doug and I went to the Phoenix zoo to see their "Zoo Lights". Most of the animals were asleep or put away but the whole zoo was decked out in lights and was so gorgeous. There was a light show where the lights on all the trees in a certain area would flash and twinkle to the sound of the music too. It was pretty captivating. There were camel rides (which we both wanted to go on, but figured we would look a little ridiculous riding with all the 5 year olds), Lots of food (which we held off on since they were charging $6 for a hot dog), and of course, Christmas music! So romantic :)
